BIOS not detecting storage device as boot drive


(A) Enable “CSM” under BIOS Boot tab because OS might be installed in Legacy mode

(B) If the problem still, try using Diskpart to clean the storage device and install a new OS
  • i. In OS setup screen, press "shift+F10" to access Command Prompt
  • ii. Type in "Diskpart" and press enter
  • iii. Type in "List Disk" and press enter
  • iv. Select the SSD (Disk #) that you want to target, then type in "Select Disk #" and press enter
  • v. Type in "Clean" and press enter
  • vi. Finally, type in "Exit" and press enter

How to upgrade BIOS with BIOS Flashback button?



(A) Check the product spec if the motherboard supports BIOS Flashback
(B) If yes, please follow the steps below to upgrade BIOS by using BIOS Flashback:
  • i. Download the latest BIOS file from ASRock's website: http://www.asrock.com
  • ii. Copy the BIOS file to your USB flash drive. Please make sure the file system of your USB flash drive must be FAT32
  • iii. Extract BIOS file from the zip file
  • iv. Rename the file to “creative.rom” and save it to the root directory of X: USB flash drive
  • v. Plug the 24 pin power connector to the motherboard. Then turn on the power supply's AC switch
    *There is no need to power on the system
  • vi. Then plug your USB drive to the USB BIOS Flashback port
  • vii. Press the BIOS Flashback Switch for about three seconds. Then the LED starts to blink
  • viii. Wait until the LED stops blinking, indicating that BIOS flashing has been completed
    *If the LED light turns solid green, this means that the BIOS Flashback is not operating properly. Please make sure that you plug the USB drive to the USB BIOS Flashback port
    **If the LED does not light up at all then please disconnect power from the system and remove/ disconnect the CMOS battery from the motherboard for several minutes. Reconnect power and battery and try again
