2.Even some SATA HDDs provide both SATA 15pin power connector and IDE 1x4-pin conventional power connector interfaces, the IDE 1x4-pin conventional power connector interface is definitely not able to support Hot-Plug and will cause the HDD damage and data loss.

Make sure your SATA HDD can support hot-plug function from your dealer or HDD user manual. The SATA HDD, which cannot support hot-plug function, will be damaged under the hot-plug operation.

Question: When I install Windows XP with SATA HDD on K7S8XE+, I found driver logo warning messages during installation. What should I do?(12/12/2003) Answer: Actually you will see these kinds of warning messages (refer to the following picture) twice during Windows XP installation.
When you see the warning messages, please both select "Yes". However, if you still need the Microsoft certificated SATA driver, it is available at https://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=K7S8XE%2b . Please download the driver and save it in a floppy disk before Windows installation.
Question: In the beginning of P4VT8 SATA driver diskette creating process, my USB keyboard seems doesn't work. What should I do?(11/14/2003) Answer: In order to fix this problem, please go to BIOS SETUP -> Advanced menu -> Chipset Configuration -> USB Device Legacy Support and set it to "Enable". For best system stability, please set it back to "Disable" after the SATA driver diskette creating process.
Question: When I try to create my K7S8XE+ SATA driver diskette and boot up with the driver CD, the system locks up. What should I do now?(11/14/2003) Answer: Before the SATA driver diskette creating process, please go to BIOS SETUP -> Advanced menu -> Peripheral Configuration -> Onboard SATA and set it to "Disable".
After the driver diskette creating process completed, please set Onboard SATA back to "Enable" in the BIOS.
